Larry Allen: NFL Guard and Hall of Famer
Early Life and Career
Larry Allen Jr. was born on November 27, 1971, in Compton, California. He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School before playing college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Allen played for the Bruins from 1990 to 1993 and was a two-time All-American.
NFL Career
Allen was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He quickly became a starter on the Cowboys' offensive line and was a key part of their Super Bowl XXX victory in 1995. Allen was named to 11 Pro Bowls and seven All-Pro Teams during his 14-year NFL career. He played for the Cowboys from 1994 to 2005 and the San Francisco 49ers from 2006 to 2007.
Retirement and Hall of Fame Induction
After retiring from the NFL in 2008, Allen worked as a sports analyst and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He was named to the NFL's 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2019.
