Ricciardo hoping for 'you beauty' cry ahead of potential Singapore send-off
Daniel Ricciardo is hoping to sign off his McLaren career with a "you beauty" moment at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.
The Australian is leaving the team at the end of the season and is yet to secure a drive for 2023.
Ricciardo has endured a difficult two years with McLaren, failing to live up to expectations after joining from Renault at the start of 2021.
He has been outscored by teammate Lando Norris in both seasons and has been linked with a move to Haas or Williams next year.
But Ricciardo is determined to finish his McLaren career on a high and is hoping to challenge for a podium finish in Singapore.
"I'm hoping for a 'you beauty' moment, I really am," Ricciardo said.
"I think it would be a nice way to say goodbye to the team and to the fans."
Ricciardo has a good record in Singapore, finishing on the podium in each of the last two races held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
He is confident that he can be competitive again this weekend and is hoping to put on a show for the fans.
"I think we can have a good race here," Ricciardo said.
"The car has been feeling good lately and I'm feeling confident in myself.
"I'm going to go out there and give it my all and see what we can do."
